This page is the master list of sources for the whole of saving.sg: the sources field in each page's front matter, and the organisations and dates mentioned in the text, all have a matching entry here. Sources were verified between 22 and 23 Oct 2026; where a page carries no date, the month it was accessed is shown.
How to use these tables
Each source is marked with one of three types:
- Primary: the original page or PDF of the official or responsible organisation; its figures and wording can be quoted directly in the text.
- Secondary: a republication by a media outlet or academic institution, or a third-party account of official data; the text says so when citing it ("according to public commentary", "as reported by the media", "according to MAS auction results").
- To be verified: the original wording or document could not be retrieved; the text quotes no figures from it, describes only the mechanism and notes "refer to the latest official position".
Three further principles apply: public documents from a single insurer or bank serve only as structural examples, never as general parameters or rankings; Hong Kong regulatory documents serve only as a cross-border reference; and market data is updated monthly or quarterly and cited as at the date in the table, with fixed deposit and T-bill figures rechecked on the 1st of each month.
Disclosure of relationships: the team of this site's content founder represents Great Eastern Financial Advisers, which, like Great Eastern Life, is a subsidiary of Great Eastern Holdings; OCBC is the controlling shareholder of Great Eastern Holdings. This site cites these organisations' public documents only because they are publicly available and complete in their columns; this does not constitute a recommendation.

Hong Kong reference sources and items to be verified
Hong Kong regulatory documents are used only for cross-border comparison (applicable region: Hong Kong):
| Title | Organisation | Date | Link | Type | Used for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Insurance Authority and Hong Kong Monetary Authority introduce measures to enhance protection of policy holders | HKMA | 2022-04-01 | hkma.gov.hk | Primary (Hong Kong) | Premium financing circular, IFS-PF, effective 2023-01-01 |

The original wording or document for the following items has not yet been obtained, so no figures from them are quoted in the text:
- The text of the Insurance Act 1966 provision on the shareholders' share cap: the text follows the MAS letter and LIA guide in stating that "shareholders receive at most $1 for every $9 of bonus".
- The original MAS release of 22 Sep 2023 raising the deposit insurance cap: the S$100,000 cap follows the SDIC page, and the effective date is a secondary account.
- The participating policy illustration template, Appendix IV(a): replaced by the definitions in the ILP template, which are identical.
- The Straits Times report on rising complaints about premium financing (republished by Singapore Law Watch, 2024): the original could not be verified, and no figures are cited.
- Any official MAS statement on whether premium financing is subject to a loan-to-value or debt-servicing ratio cap: none found; claims on third-party wikis are not cited, and the text says "subject to the current rules of the bank and MAS".
- IRAS wording on whether endowment maturity and surrender proceeds received by individuals are taxable: IRAS's annuity page stating that annuities are generally not taxable has been verified, but there is no specific entry for maturity and surrender proceeds, and the text says "refer to IRAS's latest position".
- IRAS wording on the tax treatment of interest on SSBs / government securities held by individuals, the cut-off yield for BS26121N on the official MAS T-bill auction results page (the MAS page is rendered client-side and the script could not read the value), and SingStat's original figures for male, female and age-65 life expectancy: to be confirmed by opening the official pages manually.
